How AND Why to use Twitter for Business.

The Big Question we hear is "How can Twitter help my Business?"

When we come across new clients (and some existing) the idea of twitter is kind of scary or uncomfortable for them, others don't see the value that Twitter has when your business comes to mind.

Twitter (and other social media platforms) offer the opportunity for you (and your business) to be on an even playing field. Larger companies such as Best Buy (@twelpforce ) & JetBlue (@jetblue) are utilizing twitter to monitor their brand and to assist with support.

One of the most valuable assets that we see as a marketing company when using Twitter is the ability to search tweets.

For Example: lets say someone posts on Twitter that their "Pool is Green" A Pool Company could be routinely searching these posts and responding with suggestions or links to their blog posts. This would be a great way to "step up" as a resource and help spread awareness about their brand.

We were working with one of our sales clients on the issue of prospecting. This client happens to be in the towing industry nationally. The idea that we came up with on a twitter search was to search the work "rollover" in the geographic regions in which their companies operated. As it happens a national search during the class allowed us to demonstrate several cities in with a truck rollover had or was in the process of taking place. The information came by virtue of people stuck in traffic tweeting that they were held up in traffic because of a rollover. In these cases the company in question began to study the merits of someone monitoring the words on standing searches. This is a very proactive way to stay in touch with your customers or to look for prospects. Like so many social networking avenues one needs to weigh the merits of finding the combination that works for ones business.
